Oz Whistles - Vambrace

Oz Whistles

WORKSHOP

Welcome to the Oz Whistles workshop floor! Oz Whistles Vambrace whistles are made in fine tonewoods with hand-cast metal fittings. These whistles are made to the traditional straight-bore design with a tuning slide added. All instruments are hand voiced and tuned. Specific requirements can be added in the "Special Instructions" box in the checkout section of the build request form, or discussed by email or phone.

Plus other woods on request or as they become available. (N.B. rare or high-preparation woods can cost extra – a quote will be given on inquiry)

Waiting time:

I don't make many of these whistles - each is individually crafted and build time can vary. No Vambrace whistle leaves the workshop without passing high quality standards. Current waiting time is approximately 6-12 months from build request to completion. This estimate is based on a calculation that assumes that the work will proceed uninterrupted, but can be impacted by unforeseen events. Such events have been known to extended waiting time to 12 months or more.

The Initial estimate will be given with each build request. It is not a promised deadline.

I do not alert delays, but I am more than happy to reply to status requests. Work is progressed on each confirmed build request on the book until the whistle is finished or the build request is cancelled. Upon completion I will contact you to arrange payment and postage.

Delivery deadlines such as birthdays, Christmas or gigs are rarely achievable. Please consider this before placing your build request. Delivery expectations have been known to produce tensions. I would prefer to be just producing whistles.

Price:

Standard Vambrace Soprano whistles using bronze or brass are $430.

Standard Vambrace Soprano whistles using sterling silver trim are $455.

Non standard materials or configurations may cost extra - quote given on inquiry.

Postage & Handling:

The whistles are shipped in strong mailing tubes with internal bubble-wrapping. To date, no breakages have occurred.

Postage rates can change and will be calculated at the time of sending.

Insurance can be requested. Losses in transit are at the receiver's risk. Without insurance I cannot make up any loss.

Please be aware that many countries charge import taxes and duties. This differs from country to country.

Postage Prices at July 2011 are:

Airmail/registered air mail. $25 for all destinations.

Fully tracked air-courier is $60 for all destinations.

Insurance is $15 per whistle.

Other methods can be requested with quote given on inquiry.

Payment:

I do not take deposits. The price is confirmed with each build request and will be billed upon completion with payment received before dispatch.

I do not haggle.

I do not do trade deals for services or goods.

Payment can be made in Australian dollars only.

Methods of payment are:

* For international deliveries payment can be taken via PayPal or credit card (Visa or Mastercard only). Card details can be emailed or phoned in (details given with each build request.)

* For Orders within Australia, methods are Paypal, credit-card and direct transfer (Details provided on request).

* Payments made via PayPal will incur a fee surcharge of $15 per whistle

Special Note:

An order for these whistles is treated as a build request. The request places no obligation on either party. The price is set with the build request and will carry through to completion regardless of any subsequent pricing. Upon completion I will contact the requester to ask if they wish to claim the completed build. Once again, there is no obligation to take them up. Changes to the build request prior to completion will cause the build to be delayed. If several whistles are included in the build then there is no obligation to claim them all. Unclaimed whistles will be offered to the next requester on the list. No finished whistle will be held at the convenience of the requester. A new whistle left un-played for too long does not play-in correctly. If the requester needs additional time to pay, the completed whistle is offered to the next requester and the request is moved to the next convenient build. The build request can be cancelled by either party at any time up to the point that I accept payment. With cancellations, no reason is asked and none given. The build of my whistles is conducted in the spirit of goodwill. My work is dedicated to providing instruments worthy of the players to the best of my ability. Any breach of goodwill will usually result in cancellation.
